DESCRIPTION:\nDoes psychology really matter in estate planning? Certainly, everyone knows about the “inevitability of death, illness, and taxes”. Yet, many very smart people just don’t prepare for it. Why is that? It’s not about the lack of competent resources – experts abound with insightful and efficient approaches that can elegantly address all of an estate’s stakeholder needs. Yet, tragically, the subject is often ignored, handled poorly or, even worse, addressed too late – much to the frustration of professional advisors and others who are adversely affected. Often, it comes down to common psychological barriers. Business Therapist Michel Zelnick will discuss many of the key psychological issues that interfere with effective estate planning and, most importantly, what can be done about it.\n \nMichel Zelnick is President of The Zelnick Group, which focuses on advising business owners and families on how to harness conflict, constructively engage with one another, and achieve alignment where negative emotions and psychology are impacting the ability to make sound economic decisions.\n \nHis expertise in harnessing conflict and collaboration skill building spans twenty years of business leadership and ten years of psychological practice.\n \nUsing his background as a CPA, attorney, and licensed clinical psychotherapist, Michel has been a principal and counsel to numerous public and private leadership teams and families.\n \nMichel has a Masters in Business from McGill University, as well as a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and a JD from the University of San Diego.\n \nMichel brings a deeply pragmatic perspective in addressing the psychology of estate and succession planning.\n \n*This course is pending approval for 1-hour of CE with the CFP Board of Standards and the California Department of Insurance.  This course provides 1-hour of CE for the following disciplines: Attorney, CPA, CTFA and Professional Fiduciary.\n ------\n\nMARCH MEETING SPONSOR\n \n[](http://www.inhomecaresolutions.com/)     \n
